Today is July 23

Australian-born, Insight51 released this week their Summer '08 line to stores across the globe and has maintained their fresh blend of 80's, punk, and psychedelica.

Insight51 is available at select boutiques, but you can also find a few of their pieces at Urban Outfitters for the truly un-adventurous. So-Cal boutique, The Closet carries their line as well. Fortunately for us at Well Threaded, we're just a short drive away from the headquarters which means sample-sales are our choice on the menu.

Not only does Insight have a delectable amount of tees and everyday jeans, but their hats are always nice additions to a casual outfit.

To see the rest of the full line, mosey on over to Insight's Summer site.

"Your jeans are going to need to look like you dunked them in a bucket full of bleach to give them a patchy high-contrast fade. Just like the wannabe punks at my school used to do back in the early 80s."

"Yoshitake is a menswear designer so it stands to reason that her menswear designs are a tad more considered and stylised. I quite like the role reversal of the more dressy guy and the dressed-down girl."

"Below the radar of the mainstream, magazines like 032c are successfully exploiting the overlapping fields of art, architecture and music that fashion has become."

"After growing at a fast pace the past few years and loosing focus, the company is going back to its roots and concentrating on its core business, denim, this upcoming Spring. The Evisu bag collection is pretty dope, they are all made with selvedge denim."

"7 For All Mankind have teamed up with Pucci to produce a range of brightly coloured denim. The jeans come in a limited edition of 2,000 and will only be available in Pucci boutiques."

"The Fall 2007 men’s and women’s collections now feature the bamboo-fiber fabric in a wide variety of interpretations, as well as a new line of cashmere garments developed under the same strict eco-conscious guidelines as their buttery-soft originals."

"The bold shoulder barged its way onto the Fall runways, where both forties and eighties revivalism came on strong. Those decades witnessed the broadening of opportunities for women, who projected their newfound power with padding."

After years of predictability, Elle took steps into new creative directions by hiring Joe Zee earlier this year to redesign the magazine. Next week's September issue will unveil the new look.

Stylemob.com launched this week, a new community website for street fashion inspiration. Think of it as a MySpace for DIY fashionistas.

"As much as I would love to hate on Sienna’s new collection, I have to admit that it really does capture her essence. A bit boho and bit Soho, the line combines great elements from the past three years of fashion. The inspiration for the new collection?"

"Kate and Andy Spade, the creative team behind Kate Spade and Jack Spade, are stepping down -- he as CEO and she as head designer. Even though they will both be on the board still, I'm sad to see this amazing woman step back from designing."

"Australia's fashion mavericks are known for pushing the envelope, and the design team behind Rittenhouse is happy to comply. Merging ethereal design with fine fabrics and slick graphics, Sally MacDonald and Micah Hamdorf manage to create everyday basics ..."

"Walker's most recent shades for the 2007 season are marketed with the tagline "Vote for Karen Walker." There are 33 different offerings, all fun, funky (highlights of bright yellow and turquoise hues), and the perfect complement to Karen Walker's carefree, wearable clothing designs."

"Street Peeper is a street fashion blog that photographs well-dressed people on the streets of world capitals for the rest of us to look at and discuss. It is NOT The Sartorialist; it goes beyond the New York scene on a daily basis and it skews younger, so you can actually afford to replicate."

"For some reason over the past year, I've been anti-black clothing...no black tops or pants, only in staples like shoes or coats. All of a sudden, I'm feeling black again...and love it mixed with colors for summer."

"GRN Appletree has some very sophisticated cut & sew in their line with interesting designs and definitely very different from all other brands that we came across."

"Damien Hirst, the world’s most successful living artist, is lending his talents to Levi Strauss on a new project. Hirst is collaborating with Levis on the spring 2008 collection of the company’s Warhol Factory X Levi’s label."

Andy at Denimology has a first look at Karl Lagerfeld's K denim collection for Fall/Winter 2007.

"I don’t know whether to be sending a tear-soaked thank you note, or just be a little disgusted in realizing that I had absolutely no idea that girls weren’t designing sneakers up until now."
